Searching For Form; Initial Experimentaiton

With these first two explorations I did not have any really defined 'rules' as to how the forms were shaped. I find the more organic shapes are more interesting and the most minimalist approaches gained the most appeal ('a' and 'g' in the top image-- lower right).

More random exploring during class, starting to get a handle on how to define the rules. Most of these worked with letterform overlay to determine the definition.

More in class work dealing with the entire alphabet, the top set of letters are defined with geometric forms closing the negative space created by the letterform itself. The bottom set is an exploration of contour and looking at what could be the 'signature' lines of each letter.
